On Oct. 10, 2021, members of the Mid-Missouri Kickball League gathered in costumes to play in their fourth week of the fall season while celebrating Halloween at the mid-Missouri kickball fields in Columbia, Mo. It wasn’t just an afternoon of competition though; members cheered together, drank together and celebrated a proposal together.

Of course the six weeks and three seasons of getting out of the house and hanging out with other adults every Sunday was a perk to the league, according to many members. But another was simply one word: “Family.”
